EMIRATI / Hindi Dish
Tuna Biryani
Ingredients:
- 3 tuna cans
- 6 cups basmati rice
- 3 onions vertically sliced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 3 cayenne peppers
- 2 bell peppers cut into cubes
- Indian curry leaves
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon spices
- ½ tablespoon turmeric
- 2 chicken bouillons
- ¼ minced coriander bunch
- Salt and pepper
- Spice seeds to boil rice (cardamom, carnation, cinnamon)
- ¼ cup oil
- Salt
Steps:
- Rinse and soak the rice.
- Sauté the onion, bell peppers, curry leaves, and cayenne peppers until tender, once starts to turn golden brown add ginger and garlic.
- Combine well and add chicken bouillons, tomato, and tomato paste.
- When tomatoes tender sprinkles spices, turmeric, coriander, salt, and pepper.
- Drain the tuna cans off the oil then pour over the tomato mixture and stir gently.
- Pour water in a saucepan to cook rice then add spice seeds and salt.
- In a saucepan arrange layers of rice and tuna mixture.
- Cover the saucepan very well and let simmer for 30 minutes then serve.
